So now I need to explore and see if this is the case and see if I am suffering any of the issues I mentioned in the opening article. When I normally write an article it’s normally based on something from my own save game, I don’t really do request for articles as such. But for the last few years I’ve been asked quite regularly when I would be writing about the 4-2-3-1 and the answer as always been never. The reason for this was I don’t really use the formation, I find four defender formations boring. I’m more of a three at the back and then experiment with the players in front kind of guy. Using four defenders you don’t really have many options you can use, so that’s always been my preferred method of play.
This year though I thought I’d bite the bullet and write about the 4231 to give people a better insight into how I’d use it. The only downside is I’ll be writing about the 4-2-3-1 and explain why this is my preferred option throughout the article. So over the next few weeks I will hopefully have this series about the 4-2-3-1 finished :). But for now, here is the introduction to get familiar with what I’ll be doing and why
